Robert E. Bowman passed away on Sept. 28th, 2008. Information from grand daughter, Marjori Kibler
Jan. 24th, 2010

Dear Sandy:

I found your site when I was doing a little research about my grandfather. I was very excited when I found him in the deck log for June 26, 1944. I don't have much to go on. My grandfather passed away on September 28, 2008. He was born on November 16, 1926. I found several metals and some documents and a few newspaper articles and through some deductive reasoning, I figured out the dates he was on the ship etc. I only spoke to him one time about his military time. He told me he was the guy who caught the hot shells after they were discharged. Unfortunately, he died too soon. My sister and I were working on some family background and never got to speak to him about it.

Honorably Discharged in May, 1946 in NTS Bainbridge, MD.

The website was really nice.

Thank you.

Marjori A. (Bowman) Kibler
