The Marine Guard at the Main Gate reported that Rosales, Anthony, SK3c had been a victim of a hit and run driver outside of the main gate. He was taken to Naval Hospital #603 where he is in a semi-conscious condition with possible head injuries.

Laceration of third finger, right hand. negligence not apparent. Examined and treated in Sick Bay by Lt. R. N. Whitehead (MC) and then released from Sick Bay.

Received 1650 rounds of 8-inch projectiles, including AP, common, and target; 2300 rounds 5-inch star-shells; 42,500 rounds 40-mm ammunition; and various small arms, pyrotchnic, and catapult charge ammunition.

Garbage lighter came alonside to starboard. Commenced making preparations for swinging ship from heading "North" magnetic to "South" magnetic.

Hardey, G., CWT(PA) and Esguerra, N., OCC(PA) reported aboard for duty.

Pilot R. L. Green came aboard. Took tug alongside to starboard. Prepared for swinging ship. Took tug alongside on port bow. Captain, Exec. Officer, Navigator and Pilot on the bridge. Completed swinging ship. Moored starboard side to dock at Beckoning Point, magnetic proving grounds, Pearl Harbor, T.H. All tugs cast off. Fired 4 no load shots from port catapult.

Huestis, D. E., S1c received lacerations of the fingers while working in the bake ship. he caught his fingers in the mixing machine, negligence not apparent. Treated in Sick Bay and returned to duty.

Commenced preparations for getting underway. Pilot at the Conn, Captain, Exec. Officer and Navigator on the Bridge. Manurvering combination incident to leaving port. Fired test load from Starboard catapult. Set condition of readiness I in AA Battery. Passed through anti-submarine net at channel entrance.

[8-12 Hours]
Captain too the Conn. Pilot left the ship. Continued maneuvering incident to leaving port. Officer of the Day too the Conn. Secured Special sea deatil. Commenced ZZ [zigzagging], plan #7. made daily inspection of all magazines and smokeless powder samples. Conditions normal.

[12-16 Hours]
Commenced holding General Drills. Maneuvering incident to range finding drill.

"MAN OVERBOARD". No one saw the man washed overboard. It is believed that Parker was washed overboard by a large wave while tending sluglines of Turret IV, during drill.
