I found your website and I am looking for my dad's records from the Navy. He was on the ship from 1938-1940.

I would like to see if I can get his photos, awards, and any copies of pictures of him in uniform.

The only Navy picture I have of my dad is a copy of a painting that my aunt had. I'll see if she can help.

Something my mother told me was he had an appenditis attack while he was aboard the ship and they had to do emergency surgery on board, then he was transfered to a Naval Hospital once they reached the shore. They could have been anywhere and I wouldn't know where to begin tracing it.
