USS SLC...Enlisted Navy...Warren A. Strawn, SF3c

Sandy,

It has been an interesting journey going through your web-site. My father Warren A. Strawn was aboard the USS Salt Lake City during WWII. I have very little documentation, other than his discharge papers. He served in the Navy from Jan. 30, 1940 until Jan. 30, 1946 and rank was SF 2/C. I saw in your web-site that he served on the Salt Lake from Dec 17th 1941 to Feb 7th 1942. I am trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together as he did not talk much about his days in the Navy.

Although the few stories we did hear sounds as if he was in battle and even injured. Also he was a certified diver. If you happen to have any ideas on how to go about this process of putting the pieces of the puzzel together, I would welcome any suggestions you may have.

He entered the Navy 1/30/40
Discharged 1/30/46
Naval Training Center, Norfolk VA.
USS Makin Island CVE 93
New York Worlds Fair
USS Regulus
USS Salt Lake City
